A Letter from Lead Pastor Barry Todd

Dear True Life church family,

We wanted to write to you to give an update on the rapidly evolving COVID-19 pandemic and our response as a church.

Above all else, we want to be a praying people at this time, trusting that our sovereign God is working out His good purposes. We want to pray for the many people, communities, and nations that have already been affected by COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and for those who are working to stop its spread. We particularly want to pray for our government leaders and health care professionals who have such significant burdens of responsibility at this time.

The situation is evolving very quickly. Our approach is to pray, plan, seek to protect, and to avoid panic.

We want to protect everyone who comes through our doors, including our regular attenders, guests, staff, and those we serve in our community. We want to assure you that we have already implemented enhanced protocols to keep our building clean. Frequently touched surfaces in the Worship Center, washrooms, common areas, and classrooms have been and will continue to be regularly cleaned and sanitized.

We are asking that if you, or a member of your household has travelled outside the country on or after March 8 that you refrain from attending all church functions until 14 days have passed.

If you are demonstrating symptoms of illness, or have traveled to a country where there is a possibility you have been infected, please stay home.

IF YOU ARE A VULNERABLE PERSON (compromised immune system), PLEASE EXERCISE CAUTION AND STAY HOME.

This may seem extreme, but we are trying to take every responsible measure to protect families from exposure to this virus.

As of this Monday, March 16 we have cancelled our Seniors (Young at Heart) ministry. We anticipate the possibility of further cancellations and will keep you updated you on our website, special emails and social media posts.

Please do not hesitate to email us at info@truelifenb.com or call the church office at 506-848-6370 if you have questions or concerns.

In such a time as this, our confidence is simply this: “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, and the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam, and though the mountains tremble at its swelling.” (Psalm 46:1-3).

The world around us is panicking, but as believers we can approach this difficult time with confidence and steadiness in God’s goodness and provision. Please join us in praying that God would make us a witness to the world in such a time – and that He might be pleased to call many who now walk in darkness into His marvellous light.

We love each of you and are praying for you, your family and our community.
